Submission Guidelines

All submissions to the arcade directory are reviewed before they are approved. In order to speed up the process of approval and maintain the quality of the directory, I have put in place some very simple rules. If you want your site to be listed, whether you have paid or not, you need to follow these rules. I dont have the time to make any significant edits to submissions

Title

All titles should be no more than 8 words. All words other than the, and, or, at, for etc should be capitalized. For instance "Johns Arcade" is fine. "John and Mikes Arcade" is fine also, "johns arcade" is naughty. The title MUST start with your site name, and then include any keywords you want. ie "Matts Arcade - Free Flash Games". No duplicate keywords please.

URL

Pretty obvious this one. Please make sure the URL is the top level of your domain, or subdomain. Please do not link to internal pages, or games.

Description

Please make your description read like an actual english paragraph. Descriptions stuffed with keywords will be deleted/rejected. The more interesting, quirky and exciting your description the better your site will look in the eye of potential visitors.

Category

Please pick the most appropriate category possible. I've deliberately limited the number of categories to avoid confusion.

Total Games (applicable for links in free, themed & premium arcades)

One of the extra information fields I have included to make links interesting. Please make sure your figure is accurate. I will be checking on it

Owners Favorite (applicable for links in free, themed & premium arcades)

We all have our favorites. I can't go past pacman myself, brings back some memories. List yours here. Again this mandatory. Its all designed to spice up the appearance and usefulness of your listing, and make it a bit more "social"

Most Popular Game (applicable for links in free, themed & premium arcades)

Certainly this is something that changes, but its an interesting little bit of extra information for visitors

Unique Games (applicable for links in free, themed & premium arcades)

This field is optional. It allows you to list unique games on your site. These games must be unique to your site. I wont be responsible for those webmasters claiming other peoples work as their own

Premium Service (applicable for links in premium arcades)

Any premium services such as a monthly fee, or pay per play model should be listed here.

Member Bonuses (applicable for links in premium arcades)

Details of competitions, prize draws, prizes for high scores etc should be listed here

Physical Address (applicable for links in coin operated arcades - cabinets, collectors, dealers)

This field allows business owners to give their physical address. Please keep the format as follows - street, city/town, state/region, zipcode/postcode, country. ie 15 Newbury Way, Phoenix, Arizona, 85920, United States.

Phone Number (applicable for links in coin operated arcades - cabinets, collectors, dealers)

This field allows business owners to give their phone number. Please include your full number including international country code. Australia would be +61 3 5555 5555. Thats country code, state/region/std code, minus the 0, phone number.

Link Types

There are 3 differant link types available

Sponsored - Paid - Lifetime

This link type will place your site at the top of the your chosen category for as long as the site is alive, which I hope is very long time.

• There is a maximum of 1 sponsored link per top level category and sub categories
• Only sponsored links may be submitted to top level categories
• A random sponsored link is always shown on the index page, after site of the day.
• Along with featured links, sponsored links have a chance of randomly appearing in the "Random Sponsors" block which is sitewide

Featured - Paid - Lifetime

This link type will give you the second best position available in all sub categories, and if no category sponsor exists for your chosen sub category, your site will appear at the top of the listings.

• There is a maximum of 3 featured links per sub category
• A random featured link is always shown on the index page, after site of the day, and the sponsored link
• Featured links have a chance of randomly appearing in the "Random Sponsors" block which is sitewide

Regular - Free - Lifetime

The bulk of submitters will use this option. It provides a great alternative, while you may not be on top of the list, it still allows you to be part of the best arcade directory on the net, and all links are still lifetime links.

• Only straight up arcade sites, or sites with strong arcade content, whether that be online or coin operated, will be accepted
• Sites must be in english
• .cn and .ro domains will be rejected for reasons of spam control
• Sites that promote porn, warez, or other types of dodgy content will be rejected
